VISITING SKYE?

Discounts, Travel Tips & Events Spring 2023

Skye is a spectacular island, attracting thousands of visitors each year due to its dramatic scenery and rich history. Unfortunately, visitors tend to think they can rush around and see everything Skye has to offer in a day or two. We believe that this means too much time behind the wheel, and not enough time exploring our magical island.

We encourage visitors to slow down and explore Skye in depth. There is so much more to see than the Fairy Pools and the Old Man of Storr! More tourists can make things tricky for island communities, especially in the big tourist hotspots – so taking your time is good for everyone!

What is Slow Tourism?

The slow tourism movement is all about taking time to engage with history and culture of a place, getting the most of your trip whilst being mindful of the environment and supporting local communites.
