You can enjoy a guided tour of the SkyeSkyns workshop where you will see all the traditional implements used by the Tanners: the beam, paddles, racks, and buffing wheel, horse, and iron, as well as the lengthy hand finishing processes, which help to create the world famous Highland hand-combed fleece, which is exclusive to Skyeskyns.

After the technical tour, you will be taken to the showroom to find out more about the different breeds and types of sheepskins. You can also browse through the comprehensive range of luxurious fleeces and quality woollen and leather goods. You’ll find it’s the perfect place for that exclusive and lasting keepsake of your visit to the magical Isle of Skye.

Booking is highly recommended as the tannery’s occupancy is limited. You are welcome to wait onsite though, where you can browse the showroom, pop into the Yurt or simply admire the views.
